Route

A journey told one stop at a time.

The route moves through Perth, Fremantle, Rottnest Island, Busselton, Margaret River, Augusta, Walpole, Denmark, Albany.

01 Perth

Blue Boat House

Our journey started in Perth, the capital of Western Australia. Compared with the eastern cities of Australia, Perth felt quieter, more relaxed, and deeply connected to nature.

One of the first places we visited was the Blue Boat House, sitting quietly beside the Swan River. The small blue structure contrasted beautifully against the calm water and bright Australian sky.

02 Fremantle

Fremantle Markets

Fremantle had a completely different vibe from Perth: a historic port town filled with old architecture, cafes, street musicians, and ocean breeze.

The Fremantle Markets became one of the liveliest stops of the trip. Walking through the market while trying local food, listening to live music, and exploring handmade shops made Fremantle feel vibrant and full of personality.

03 Rottnest Island

Coastal Cycling and Quokkas

Rottnest Island was one of the highlights of the journey. The island is famous for crystal-clear water, white beaches, and quokkas, the small smiling animals unique to Western Australia.

With very few cars on the island, cycling around the coastline under the bright Australian sun made the entire place feel peaceful, untouched, and almost unreal.

04 Busselton

Busselton Jetty

Busselton Jetty is one of the most iconic landmarks in Western Australia. Stretching nearly two kilometers into the ocean, the wooden jetty seemed endless when viewed from the shore.

We took the small train along the jetty, surrounded by calm blue water on both sides. The ocean, the long wooden structure, and the soft coastal light made Busselton feel incredibly relaxing.

05 Margaret River

Voyager Estate, Happs Winery and Amaze'n Margaret River

Voyager Estate felt elegant and refined, surrounded by vineyards, gardens, and a polished wine tasting atmosphere. It showed the classic and luxurious side of Margaret River wine culture.

Happs Winery felt more relaxed and approachable, while Amaze'n Margaret River added a playful contrast with its hedge maze and quiet greenery.

06 Augusta

Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse

Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse sits at the southwestern tip of Australia, where the Indian Ocean meets the Southern Ocean.

The landscape felt dramatic and powerful. Strong winds, massive waves, and endless ocean views created a sense of isolation that was both beautiful and overwhelming.

07 Walpole

The Giant Tingle Tree

Located deep inside the forests near Walpole, the Giant Tingle Tree showed the incredible scale of Western Australia's ancient forests.

Walking inside the hollow trunk made the tree feel almost mythical. The surrounding forest was quiet, cool, and filled with towering trees.

08 Denmark

Coastal Landscapes

Denmark was one of the most peaceful towns on the trip, surrounded by forests, beaches, rolling hills, clear turquoise water, and giant granite rocks.

It felt slower than the previous stops, like a place where nature completely shaped the rhythm of daily life.

09 Albany

Southern Ocean Cliffs

Albany became the final stop of our road trip. Compared with the warmer and calmer coastline further north, Albany felt rugged and dramatic.

Places like The Gap and Natural Bridge showed the raw power of the Southern Ocean, creating a memorable ending to the drive through Western Australia.
